Boar bristle brushes are stiffer than badger, horse or synthetic brushes. Allow time for the brush to soften with use. Also be aware that boar brushes are notorious for a certain gamey scent the first few times they're used. It will go away! Some wet shavers put their boar brushes through a breaking-in process to soften them and get rid of any smell before they use them.
