The Merkur Futur is an adjustable razor with 6 settings. If this is your first encounter with an adjustable safety razor, here's how it works: By changing the setting you change the angle of the razor blade within the head, which also changes the gap between the blade and the bar of the razor head.
If you've heard people talk about "aggressive" safety razors, they're referring to the gap between the blade and the bar. A more aggressive shave (with a larger gap) will be closer to the skin.
