This extra tall boar bristle brush has been a mainstay in our shop for many years now. Both the knot and the handle have extra length, making this brush great for a deep lathering bowl. 

Boar bristle brushes are stiffer than badger, horse or synthetic, but they do soften up with use over time. Some wet shavers even put them through a "breaking-in" process to soften the bristles faster. The stiffness of the bristles is ideal for hard soaps, but also work well with soft creams.
