Blank books can be intimidating until you fill the first page. Here is a list of prompts for creating a travel journal.

We carry a variety of handmade blank books in our brick and mortar store. It can be intimidating to look at a blank page and decide what to fill it with. One of my favorite uses is a travel journal. However, I've never been a diary sort so instead we have put together prompts that you can use for your own travel journal. Most of these can be answered with either sketches or writing.

  1. Describe the most breathtaking natural wonder you've encountered during your travels.

  2. What's the most exotic cuisine you've tried while traveling, and what did you think of it?

  3. Share a memorable encounter with a local person during your travels.

  4. If you could revisit one destination from your past travels, where would it be and why?

  5. What's the most unique mode of transportation you've used on your travels?

  6. Describe a travel experience that pushed you out of your comfort zone.

  7. Share a funny or unexpected travel mishap that you still laugh about.

  8. What cultural festival or event left a lasting impression on you during your travels?

  9. Reflect on a destination that exceeded your expectations.

  10. Describe a travel experience that changed your perspective on life.

  11. What's the most awe-inspiring piece of architecture you've seen during your travels?

  12. Share a travel adventure that involved trying an extreme sport or activity.
